Why doesn't anyone talk to anyone on AIM anymore? Is it just me?

I've kinda noticed it too. I guess there's just not much to talk about these days? At one point people were excited about finding and connecting to old and new friends online, and now we all have more than we can handle?

I was kind of hoping it'd make a comeback as we all graduate (yes, even me eventually) and get entry-level jobs that put us in front of computers and pushing papers all day (something I already have in spite of my as-yet lack of diploma).

ditching AIM (sort of, at least) provides a way to disconnect when I've felt all too connected otherwise. plus, all the cool kids play warcraft anyway. (one day I'll join that boy's club, hmph.)

Do you just not go on AIM, or do you sign on and not talk to anyone? I can't be the only one with a jaeorb that has me sitting at a computer all day, and I see people I know and like online all the time, but after a while I feel like I'm bothering people. I IM others, but nobody ever IM's me.

I don't usually sign on to AIM, maybe because most of the time I'm at work. I do run google talk, so its not like I can talk, but I'm always getting up and walking away and people get annoyed when I'm just gone for like twenty minutes.

When I did sign on to AIM, I almost never IMed people first. It's just me though, I was never sure if they really wanted to talk to me or not.

I still talk on IM some, but to a fewer number people. I also feel like I'm bothering people.
