Really?
I make less than $11,000/year. My estimated family contribution according to the US Department of Education - and I'm old enough to be considered an independent student now, so no parents' incomes factor in to this - is $1,624.

I've had similar numbers every year up until now... You apparently have to be bottom-of-the-barrel poor...

BTW: Skynet has launched. You've been warned. :)

How much did you list as having in your bank account? I said $38 (it was true, lol) and my expected contribution was exactly $38. (my personal contribution, not my parents', and it was when I wasn't working)

I entered in my income and it basically said "thanks, you're done" I was so excited! Usually I have to fill out a dependant student form and mail it in with my mom's taxes and it takes forever for financial aid to get anything done for me.
